hitherekate asked: Totally agree with the eBay post! Its painfully obvious that they aren't the real deal, does anyone actually fall for it? And MAC's Canadian :)
Ooops! Well, I knew it wasn’t British! haha :)
And yes, most of the time it’s younger girls or people just getting into makeup who want more than Revlon! They’ll resort to ebay to try and get the high-end stuff cheap, but it isn’t real, it’s like throwing your money into a paper shredder :x
Believe me, you could get the most fabulous little trinkets off of Ebay for almost nothing and be completely in love with it, but it’s not the place to buy ANY sort of makeup. I’m going to start a series of blog posts on how to identify and avoid fake MAC on ebay, first being the most obvious, EYESHADOW.
One thing that always confused me about this whole thing is.. why would you buy it from Ebay when they’re selling it for even MORE than the retail price? At least when you buy an eyeshadow from the MAC website you know you’re getting the real deal, and MAC ships worldwide!

People on this website will go to any extent to trick you into giving them money, not even just with makeup but with anything! They even go to the extent of charging .99 cents for a product but have a $60 shipping fee. You’ll most likely see this type of scam with a sold out, high demand, limited edition product, most likely replaced with a drug store dupe.

The second scam I always see is people selling Manly 120 Palettes and having the nerve to put them in some cheap, painfully obvious fake case, such as this one:

MAC has NEVARRRR sold a 120 pallete, or had ‘professional makeup’ on any product of theirs and the marble shadows just give it away, that’s a Manly staple!

MAC has never sold a sponge tip applicator, so brush sets that come with sponge tips aren’t MAC. Chances are, it’s a Wet n Wild set in a black pleather pouch with MAC’s logo on it.

Another thing I see quite often is someone trying to sell a set of shadows called the ‘Magic Color MAC Palette’ Wtf is a magic color mac palette? Can someone please answer that for me?! Ugh I can’t….

Pretty sure MAC is an American company as well, so why in God’s green earth would we use British spelling….?
